Why we made it

A GPS stuffed in a pocket loses satellites; one on the strap keeps them. This backpack tether hooks around straps from 2.5 to 3.5 inches, holds the unit on a quick-release spine mount, and keeps a lanyard (2 to 14 inches) on it so it never hits the ground when you pull it free.
